Galatians 6:7,8 If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant. If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life.

Deciding where to plant your seed and what sort of seed to plant, I think you’ll agree, is going to have a huge impact – the overriding impact in fact – on the crop that will grow by harvest time.

One of the things that I find truly scary is our tendency to diddly-bop through life without really thinking all that much about it; without stopping to consider how we’re living our lives and what the outcome of that will be. We just get up every morning, do what we did yesterday and then collapse back into bed at night.

There’s a time in life for planting (for investing if you will) and a time for harvesting – both in the short and longer term.

Pastor Victor Otiende in Kenya sums those verses up like this: where you invest is where you harvest.

So where are you investing, where are you planting, what are you planting … and what will you harvest?

Perhaps it’s time to stop and think about that today. Are you investing too much in your job and not enough in your family? What will the consequences of that be?

Are you investing in your own comfort and wealth, but not in the good works of God? What will the consequences of that be when you stand before Him on that day?

Where you invest is where you harvest.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
